Express Entry

What is express entry?

As a skilled foreign national, one of the primary streams that guarantee your entry into Canada is the express entry stream. This program is designed to accommodate permanent resident applicants who are skilled and qualified to work in Canada. This program aims to equip the job market with more experienced hands and ultimately help Canada’s economy. Skilled workers can apply through the express entry pool and get a speedy response to their application.

With this program, Canadian provinces and territories can confidently meet global standards in terms of an economic boost. Therefore, this program contributes to the increased demand for highly trained professionals to go the country’s human resources. The program involves nominating skilled express entry candidates for specific provinces of the country, thereby making the process easier.

How DOES Express Entry work?

The express entry application is not always difficult to process if all the necessary documents are available for submission during the application. However, before applying, all applicants must check to see if they meet the eligibility requirement regarding language, skills and work experience. If all these criteria are met, then the next major step is to meet with a Luthra law representative to help with the application submission.
Once the documents have been successfully submitted, the applicant would be in the pool of the express entry stream. The Canadian government are the one responsible for the selection of the most qualified candidate. Therefore, we at Luthra law make sure all applicants through our firm have high scores before we advise them to join the pool. A nominated applicant can then submit a permanent resident application to change their status.

The most qualified people for permanent residency through this stream are those with proof of employment of their employment status. Such people will receive a permanent resident invite which authenticates the approval of their express entry application. If the government doesn’t pick a candidate, they don’t think they can contribute to the Canadian economy, which is why they only choose the best.

How many Express Entry streams are there?

As a foreign immigrant seeking a job in Canada, the express entry stream offers a sure pathway to actualizing that dream. There are three streams under the express entry program, and they cover a wide range of foreign nationals that apply yearly. Because of the diversity of these streams, the requirements are different, so it is important to know which program you want and the criteria.

Canadian Experience Class

All applicants for the Canadian experience class need to meet the National Occupation Classification (NOC) criteria. The employment level doesn't affect these criteria as they are the same at any level. Applicants for the Canadian Experience class must get a minimum language score of CLB 7 if they apply for NOC A or O jobs. But if it is for a NOC B, the minimum language score is CLB 5. Also, they must have worked for a full 12 months for their work experience to be accepted.
